GeeMa gets told...

For those of you who have met my Mum, and know a little background of our family, you'll know that she has been blessed with a new grandson already this year in Zachary, my nephew and Clinton/Felicity's son. So with an impending visit to Brisbane, in typical Kris Brown style, I had to make sure that there was a story to how we told GeeMa!

After much deliberation, we bought Harvey a new singlet top (size 16 boys for those who want to know) and printed onto it a logo "Big Brother to Be!" And thought that after picking Mum up from the airport and driving her home, that she will have gotten over the initial excitement of seeing us and would turn her attention to Harvey when she walked in the door. Of course he would be already wearing his top and then the news would be broken.

A long car ride home, with the anticipation killing me and Mel, and my mother walks thru the front door. Harvey immediately runs up to greet her and in true Harvey fashion, wiggles his bum from side to side. Mum pats him on the head, and doesn't even notice he is wearing a singlet. So I casually mention "look at Harvey's new top" and mum looks and tries to read it, and says "Big Brother something... how cute"

At this point with the plan failing, I step in and say "Well Mel I told you we should have printed on it, So we're Pregnant!" Silence.... then "WHAT?" then squeals of joy and hugs and a very excited burbling that I'm guessing only chicks understand. Mission accomplished and I am now free to tell people Mel is pregnant. Next to find out the sex and let everyone but Mum know... Apparently she doesn't want to know, she prefers the surprise... not sure how that is going to work.

... and so it begins.

It's all been done before, but I like the idea of not having to remember to email everyone, and more importantly you can visit anytime. So here is the blog for the newly nicknamed Little Lump, or LL Cool B. Mel doesn't like either of the names, but you have to name the blog before it will let you post, and she wasn't around, so there is the one and only time in the next 9 months (10 months if you ask Mel, but we'll get into that another time) that I get to make a decision! By myself at least.

Mel and I will post photo updates and musings here. Trials and tribulations and other stuff. However, it will come at a price. If we don't get feedback and comments then this may die off very quickly. Mel has a bad habit of not seeing stuff thru (she doesn't have a choice in some cases) and I have been known to dump a blog or two when the feedback or participation drops to near zero. (see tower blog and AP blog's)

For now let's post the facts. We don't have any ultrasound photo's yet. However, Mel has seen Little Lump's (from here referred to as LL) heart beat, I was travelling at the time... More scans are due soon, and hopefully I'll be a part of that and also we'll get some sort of output. In the interim I'll talk Mel into some photo's so you can all see how she is progressing and maybe to get her to explain some of the interesting details here.
